PGY-1 Information
Preliminary Medicine PGY 1 training is available at Providence Portland Medical Center, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, and the Legacy Portland system.  All three programs offer outstanding education with excellent clinical experience within nationally recognized Internal Medicine Departments.  The OHSU Department of Medicine does not currently offer Preliminary Medicine training. Transitional Year  Legacy Emanuel/Good Samaritan Hospitals also offers eight Transitional Year Residency positions. Legacy’s program is accredited by the ACGME and provides a well-rounded, one year experience specifically designed to develop fundamental skills on the internal medicine and general surgery services.
