Experience and Interests
Dr. Nielson has experience in the design and conduct of population-based epidemiologic studies and in the statistical analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal data. Since arriving at OHSU, she has become an investigator in Osteoporotic Fractures in Men (MrOS), a longitudinal cohort study of men ages 65 and older in the U.S. Her main interests are in the patterns of change in musculoskeletal phenotypes over the course of normal aging and the genetic determinants of these changes.
