Hours

Regularly Scheduled Hours:

Appointments

8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Please call (503.494.8665) to talk with the advice nurse and make an appointment.  If you call before the clinic is open, or after hours,  the triage/advice nurse will find your message in the morning after 8 AM and call you back.  (In this case, be sure to leave a number and time when you can be reached.)    If you come to the clinic to make an appointment, or for advice, or for any other reason,  sometimes it is difficult to talk privately with the receptionist because others may be present and it might limit what you feel comfortable saying.  It might help to write down your concerns first.   If you can talk on the phone with the nurse it protects your confidentiality and the RN can often find the best solution.

If you walk in to the clinic without an appointment, you will see the triage RN who will take a history of your problem and if you need to see the clinician (physician or nurse practitioner or psychologist) she will help arrange the most appropriate time for the visit.  If you do come as a “walk-in” try to come in early in the morning or afternoon, or call first, since there may be better scheduling flexibility at those times, rather than later in the morning or in the afternoon.

Summer and vacation hours:
9 a.m to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Open during all school vacations except legal holidays.

After Hours:

For emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency facility.

For urgent problems after hours, call (503) 494-8311 and ask for the Student Health Service physician on call.   He or she will call back within an hour of your call to talk with you about the problem and help you decide what to do about it.  You may need to have the number of a pharmacy handy, or you may need to have your health insurance card available in case you need to go to an urgent care clinic before the clinic is next open, so have this information available.  Be sure that your number is not blocked if you ask for a callback from the physician.
