Incidental Fee
All students attending OHSU are charged the incidental fee on a quarterly basis. This fee was implemented to support programs that are advantageous to the cultural, societal or physical activities of students. Specifically, portions of your incidental fee go to your respective program’s student government (i.e. SOM Senate, SNAP, GSO, etc), to pay for your March Wellness membership, and to the OHSU Student Council for campus-wide outreach, student advocacy, community service projects, and funding social activities like the Welcome BBQ and the Sunriver Trip. Currently, the amount of the fee is $318/student/term. The incidental fee is set each year based on recommendations made from the Student Council, based upon the work of the Incidental Fee Taskforce, to the President of OHSU.
The Incidental Fee Task Force is charged with anticipating enrollment and proposing a budget to the Student Council. The budget is voted on by the OHSU Student Council and is then sent to the President. The president considers recommendation in concert with other broad OHSU interests. The OHSU President or designee accepts recommendations or notifies taskforce of modifications. The Incidental Fee Task Force responds by accepting the proposed modifications or requests meeting to reconcile differences.
