| OHSU currently has 2700 employee/student/faculty parking spaces and 1100 patient parking spaces. At any given time, we have more than 8000 employees and students on campus and are averaging a patient load of 2200 appointments per day. The City of Portland has placed a cap on the number of spaces available for parking on Marquam Hill as part of the citys overall pollution control and traffic congestion reduction efforts. We are currently in a major master planning effort with the City of Portland to address future space needs for OHSU and, as part of this, are encouraging them to lift the moratorium they have placed on OHSU in order to add more parking spaces. | |

| There are reserved spaces available for handicapped/disabled motorists. If you are a employee, student, volunteer or a temporary employee who needs a handicapped space, please contact the Parking Office. | It is the responsibility of anyone parking at OHSU to display the correct OHSU hang tag at all times. If a permit owner forgets or fails to display their hang tag and receives a parking violation as a result, the parker will need to file an appeal with the OHSU Parking Department within 30 days. The first time a permit owner fails to display the hang tag the ticket will be waived. Future occurrences of such offenses within a 6 month period will not be subject to appeal, and will be the responsibility of the OHSU parker to remedy, unless verification of a sick or otherwise absent carpooler can be accomplished through the TACS system. Continued misuse of the hang tag privilege could result in removal from the OHSU Parking program. Any exception to this policy will only be considered after review by the OHSU Parking Appeals/Review Committee |
