OHSU hosts health fair in 'Portland's Living Room'
WHAT: OHSU's "Health Fair on the Square"
WHEN: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9
WHERE: Pioneer Courthouse Square, Downtown Portland
DETAILS: The "Health Fair on the Square" is the kickoff event for OHSU's yearlong 125th anniversary celebration. The event will feature a series of interactive displays; free screenings; the Casey Eye Institute mobile eye clinic; a large inflatable walkthrough colon; Mr. Yuk, the Oregon Poison Center mascot; and "Lets Get Healthy," a popular interactive education and research exhibit.
Other OHSU fair participants are: the Tom Sargent Children's Safety Center at Doernbecher Children's Hospital, the Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center, the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and the Bob and Charlee Moore Institute for Nutrition & Wellness.
Health screenings will include blood tests to assess lipid levels, body mass index and blood pressure testing.
The event is free and open to the public. Health screenings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
